Berastagi - of Public Buses and the Town

Again, there are price differentials - the hotel reception told us it was 6,000 Rp to get to the city but the locals pay 2,000 Rp. The minibus drivers do not seem much concerned about how much gets paid and we paid 2,000 Rp on the return trip with no questions asked. While the amount is really small, I guess we were just testing how things worked.

The town of Berastagi is rather small, with a tourist office, several tour agencies, market and eateries. We wanted directions to the tour agency but couldn't really communicate with the locals. Thankfully, we chanced upon an eatery run by a Chinese couple, who gave us recommendations:
#1:   Gundaling Hill: Sunset View of Gunung Sinabung; Horse Riding for 25,000 Rp
#2:   Raymond Cafe: Rental of the Couple's Own Motorcycles i.e. 1 Automatic/1 Manual only
#3:   Gunung Sibayak: Sunrise on the volcano
